John Pilger, the renowned Australia-born investigative journalist who was a trenchant critic of the West’s “imperialist” foreign policy, has died at age 84.

Propaganda in liberal democracies like America and Britain is much more thorough than in dictatorships and totalitarian states. [...] [T]he conformity of information and opinion is insidious. Its sameness implicit, ingrained, and even celebrated.
It was one of his articles that first radicalized me (https://johnpilger.com/articles/a-world-war-has-begun-break-the-silence-) back in 2016. Made me realize as a 17 year old that I didn't have to buy into the bipartisan spectacle. RIP.
