As some who's getting close to forty I really hate those 30 under 30 list. They just make me feel like shit about how little I've accomplish. When I see some one write a break out novel or something at 45 that gives me hope that I can still do something note worthy.
Most of them are born extremely well connected and have personal publishers to manage their brand. I wouldn’t mind it much as you complete your metamorphosis into old person.
Yeah I do try to remember that, no one is making a successful start up at 24 with out loads of connections to grift.
Even with the connections most become fail kids. It’s a subsection of a subsection of a subsection.
Wow can’t imagine a system where people can’t accomplish their goals and aspirations when they are young and have to when they are older.
recommending my communist grandma go get a phd so some random liberal on twitter can bloviate about her calloused hands and tender heart
.....
she laughed at me and asked if i was calling her while high again
Idk why you guys are reacting to this so negatively. Focusing only on the successes of the young absolutely excludes older people and reinforces the capitalist narrative that you're a failure and your life might as well be forfeit if you don't achieve unrealistic success by an arbitrarily youthful age.
I dunno I love a man with thick fingers and rough hands from working his whole life.
I'm attracted to men who work with thier hands it tends to make them big and rough. :shrug-outta-hecks:
fair go man
I want you to know that as a big roughyed who works with this hands that I would sand them down for you because I respect you and I don't want to scratch your genitals

hate that I'm an adult now so I feel like I'm not good enough because teens have gotten degrees or done other important work while I'm just studying and doing my tasks. I'm not gifted enough, so what's the point? i overcome this idea usually, but ti's annoying.
I could be wrong, but I think the tweet is trying to say:
"these '[INSERT SOCIAL METRIC FOR SUCCESS] by 40' types are clearly operating from a distinct advantage, and it's more worthwhile to celebrate those who come from a more disadvantaged position."
or something to that effect.
