    AFAIK, pronouns refer to gender expression so he/him, she/her, they/them makes sense as referring to men, women, and nonbinary folks. What do neopronouns do?

        Gender identity is the person that you are, while gender expression is how you present the person that you are to the outside world.

        Thanks for pointing that out. It's such a simple distinction, but it may have helped me a lot.

      Instill explicitly not that in the mind and language of the person addressing the neopronoun user.

      as much as commonly accepted pronouns are a personal decision, they come with expectations and baggage that some people do not want associated with them. Breaking (or ceasing) those expectations is the point
