    I guess I liked the vague outline of doing breast cancer awareness for prostate cancer, since regular screenings is basically the number one treatment. For overtesting, I remember my friend saying it was irresponsible of me not to ask my doctor to get tested when we were like 21, but the recommended age is like 40-50.

      breast cancer awareness campaigns also have ALL sorts of problems but yeah agreed about the importance of screening. for prostate cancer, psa is a really imprecise marker and doing screening early more often leads to overtreatment which can be really harmful, without actually doing anything for the rate of prostate cancer death (which is also overwhelmingly in older people).
