It had more staying power than Movember, which literally raised money for prostate cancer research and awareness =/

if it makes you feel better, movember is a bit shit too, it promotes overtesting in younger people that does more harm than good and its all wrapped up in some very unpleasant "manliness" shit to boot

edit: plus like the vast majority of cancer charities i guarantee that only the merest fraction of the money raised will ever get as far as funding actual research

I guess I liked the vague outline of doing breast cancer awareness for prostate cancer, since regular screenings is basically the number one treatment. For overtesting, I remember my friend saying it was irresponsible of me not to ask my doctor to get tested when we were like 21, but the recommended age is like 40-50.

breast cancer awareness campaigns also have ALL sorts of problems but yeah agreed about the importance of screening. for prostate cancer, psa is a really imprecise marker and doing screening early more often leads to overtreatment which can be really harmful, without actually doing anything for the rate of prostate cancer death (which is also overwhelmingly in older people).

I'm in my mid twenties and sometimes I feel like an idiot for being so knowledgeable about internet pop culture. This guy is fucking 40 and takes memes this seriously because of terminal chanbrain.

He does realize he IS the normie, right? Peddling popular opinion, telling the masses what they want to hear (white people good, war good, and gay marriage will totally cause the planet to explode any second you guys.)

I don’t think there’s anything more grating than people who are whole heartedly entrenched in the status quo and who benefit from the current world order who also want to wear the mantle of counter-culture.

What dude, you think you’re doing something special for saying the t or n word as if 90% of people around you don’t agree with your dumb bullshit?

Remember, we are the contrarian assholes to most of the world and we can invoke a rage out of most people that chanbrains can only dream of. What do we do that causes such ire in the world? We're not narcissistic jackasses.

We're the edgelords, but we shouldn't be. Being rude doesn't make you an edgelord when most of humanity are self-indulgent pigs. In hellworld, good is evil and evil is good.
