You're joking but way back when I loved the old Underhive mod with its insanely fiddly mechanics (building 8 separate parts in 3 workshops to build 1 gun and then master the entirely unexplained alchemy system to produce gunpowder, only to send my gangers on a suicide bayonet charge because a raid comes before I can get primer) made by like 3 guys who didn't talk to each other and finished by the pixel artist
Much later I played a remake by a highly competent modder/binary hacker that was very elegant and streamlined and boring to me.
Glad I only play open source roguelikes.
