(If you are out of the loop, that's okay! Kyle Rittenhouse is a chud kid who is on trial for murdering two protesters and injuring another in Kenosha, Wisconsin in the aftermath of protests over a police shooting that paralyzed Jacob Blake, a black man. There is a lot of news about the case circling around right now because the trial is ongoing.)

(pic of jade cicada is unrelated)

BIG CW for racism, violence, and other chud things

It's newspaper speak. The following isn't a defence of it, just an explanation:

Legally speaking, newspapers can't make a definitive statement as to what happened - this opens them up to a huge can of worms should the defendant in a case be found not guilty, wrongfully convicted, etc. Legally speaking, newspapers have to maintain the faux neutrality where they dance around shit but never say it: "Alleged to", "accused of", "said to have", etc.

It's cowardly, but c'est la vie with the press. Naturally, if they were to start coming down on one side or another, the shitbird R*ddit types would start to clutch pearls and cry about bias and stuff, because what libs care about most is "unbiased just the facts ma'am" reporting.

Cop kills innocent guy = biased

Guy with no active warrants dies during alleged police-involved shooting = not biased

Sure in part. I'd wager that threats from advertisers to stop buying ads is playing a significant role.

EDIT: Coming back to suggest everyone go read some newspaper articles from each preceding decade. There's good and bad but my perception is there were actually a lot more "just facts" being reported in the past. Problem was those facts support the viewpoints of the left so they had to be softened and made more ambiguous to keep the waters muddy and the public uninformed
