No Step Back is the newest expansion for Hearts of Iron IV, Paradox Interactive’s grand strategy wargame about the world crisis of the 1930s and World War II...
WtT was kind of disappointing as far as Chinese-exclusive content is concerned outside of the Main Two (nationalists and communists). Not to mention that post-rework China in KR does everything it said it was going to do but better.
This new expansion, though, looks like it's in a different league entirely for the Soviets. Plus the Baltic and Polish content look neat.
wild, I had the exact opposite experience (granted, I haven't played KR reworked china). WtT was the only time I've ever played vanilla hoi4 because I thought it was that much fun, and I thought KR china was clunky and boring.

pre-rework KR China definitely was. IDK, I just wish WtT put more effort into the warlord states and offered alternate outcomes.
Then again, uniting China with :mao-shining: is good fun already.
I really wish a team would rework vanilla to be functionally more like kaiserreich while keeping vanilla's historical and alt-historical scenarios.
It's the only dlc with good reviews on steam because it added a Kaiser larp path
To be fair, that same path involves you hanging Nazis once you win the Civil War.
Critical support to Kaiserboos? :honecker-interesting:
