    But I also wouldn’t want to be that guy or have my kids be excluded. And that doesn’t even touch how all the other kids will be on tiktok/YouTube/insta and my kid would be weird for not doing that.

    Raising a kid seems especially hard nowadays because there’s no real agreed upon way to handle the dopamine that is social media. Although maybe I’m just overthinking it because I remember my parents being scared of me playing violent video games (FPSs like COD) which weren’t really more harmful than kids playing Mario but should probably be limited so they play with IRL toys that teach motor skills and whatnot.

    That's the conundrum...on the one hand even as I guy raised on games I actually do think youtubers and videogames are bad, rot your brain, and the world would be better off if they were abolished...but on the flipside to an extent having your kids not engage in videogames and social media actually makes them the odd one out and impacts their socialization. Really as leftists that's true of most things we deal with. I have a first grader and had to figure out how to address some of his Veterans day assignments recently.
