See the problem with this picture is that the calf wouldn't "see" twice the number of stars because the "calf" is actually two consciousnesses getting visual input from two different sets of eyes because the poor animal has two brains. Therefore, there is no shared "calf view", only 2 separate views where they each see the normal number of stars, if thats how consciousness works.

Perhaps, since the calf has two brains.
Unless the brains are fused in some way that makes things iffy, or unless only one head has a brain, yes it is 2 consciousnesses.
