Today I spent an hour looking for earbuds that are shaped like Apple earpods but that will actually work for longer than 4 months.
Is it planned obsolescence? After about a month of use one of the speakers will go out. I can handle listening to podcasts and audiobooks in one ear, but I can't listen to music that way. The amount of money I've spent on earbuds over the years is obscene.
I have a pair of AKG N400 that have been going for 1.5 years of 8+ hours, 5-6 days/week use. I wear them at work until they die, let them charge for an hour, put them in again, and repeat until done with work. They have survived two summers of constant sweaty ears (I work outside) as well as cold, rain, and snow. A charge doesn't last quite as long as it used to but considering how many cycles they've been through I'm very happy with them.

Damn have I been getting lucky or something? All my earpods are over a year old and going strong. Not to simp for apple or anything
