Alienation and dehumanization of others is in full swing after over a year of lockdowns and the like, for one. Lots of grumpy people out there just waiting to be pissed off.

I have to say, the brutality of a "mid-sized" SUV on pedestrians is horrific. SUVs and heavy trucks need to have tighter regulations. You can drive 100-200 feet through human beings with them, that should not be in everyone's hands.
