Lord forgive me but I'm back to the old me (posting drama about contrapoints)
Grimes is an inherently funny figure, the contradictions between her shallow leftism and her association with the richest man alive is a recipe for brainworms
(If this was posted before I'll delete, I don't subscribe to the dunk tank but when I see slop I know I have to post it)
The entire concept of the blockchain is asking "how do I sell stuff to someone that I have zero trust in?" That's inherently limiting and there's nothing inherently valuable about being able to do that. Scarcity is a bug, not a feature. Delimiting human access to resources via access to currency or credit is monstrously alienating, to the point that it arguably kick-started philosophy and the world agricultural religions. All of the value here is just an ideological bubble. This isn't that which is solid melting to vapor. This is tech illiterate people throwing their money at a pyramid in the hopes that they cash out at a good time. It's gambling. Welcome to the future, it's even worse now.
This has been the most difficult thing explaining to people how crypto provides absolutely nothing. Imagine it's money but it's less secure and there are no authorized institutions to issue lines of credit. Also it isn't accepted as currency everywhere. Also unlike normal currency which is presumably backed up by various financial and state institutions to protect its value, crypto is backed up by a public ledger of every transaction ever made which requires increasingly higher amounts of computing power to maintain.
It's like money but worse in every single way other than perhaps a quick way to scam a bunch of people.
"What if _________, but worse in every way?" seems to be the thrust of every tech bro pitch for the last couple decades. Friendship, but worse? Welcome to Facebook. A blender, but worse? Hello, Juicero. Transportation, but worse? Nice to meet you Uber, Lyft, and Tesla!
