That looks to be a mid 19th century percussion lock (aka caplock) muzzle loader pistol. In the US, this is not even legally considered a firearm.
Yeah, even in France this is available over-the-counter to any adult with just an ID (the same as those black powder gun replicas like these ones - they're perfectly functional but you have to load the powder, and then the bullet, etc. manually).
Yep. I forgot to clarify that it could also be a replica, I just find these guns so interesting and am obsessed with this era of firearms.
