In Finnish, Santa is called Joulupukki, which translates to, uhh... the Yule Ram

    I also thought of that. I've just assumed it was Santa Claus ever since I was a kid

    I think there are some older less Coca Cola-y Finnish Santa illustrations where he's shown walking through forests with a sack on his back

          Nah, I think you're right. My folks had some little Santa dolls that were done up in brown and had walking sticks and sacks.

            Yeah, these usually shy away from religious imagery

            It's not like there's a chocolate baby Jesus behind door #24 (or #25, depending on the calendar)
