Seattle socialist city councilor Kshama Sawant has been subject to repeated corporate-backed attempts to remove her from office. Last night, she defeated yet another. Despite attacks from some of the world’s most powerful capitalists, Sawant isn’t going anywhere.
I haven’t really paid attention to her too much but what’s up with that whole “she’s cost tax payers millions” line the hogs have been trying to make stick? I have a feeling that her policies have had a bunch of corporate challenges which have cost a lot of money but corporations can keep throwing money so it’s costing more. Is this the case?
Here is the legal judgement against her (sorta)
In short:
God forbid the people who live in the city hold an assembly in the marble building which nominally serves their will.
Third charge is bogus. Seattle DSA organized that and is very proud of it, as they should be.
Edit: mayor's house part.
