Basicly could someone in the usa claim creditble fear of prosecution due to long standing political ties to an American communist party to leave the country, I guess my question is what would you need to have this hold up in any immigration court I know it probley depends on the country. Just something I was pondering in case of the worst.

They're prosecuting ppl for joining political parties again? Sounds like freedom of speech and assembly to me.

Coincidentally, this is also probably what a liberal country would say unless it was happening in public at a large scale. An anti-imperialist country might give you asylum just for facing prosecution in the imperial core, like Assata Shakur.

Mexico historically has been good to leftist asylum-seekers (Trotsky, 20000 spanish civil war leftists, Castro, Morales)

It wouldn't be a safe bet but it might be a viable escape route if things get really bad
