The issue with that one is the guaifenesin. If you take enough of that robitussin to get enough DXM to get you high, you're going to be consuming a lot of guaif. Now that's not going to damage your organs like too much acetaminophen would, but it is very likely to make you puke and just overall mess with your stomach. You do not want that much guaif. I've known of people who put up with that for the sake of the high, but I would certainly not recommend it.

Oh and the USP isn't a drug, it has to do with standards. Like, it's saying it meets the US standards for being 20mg of DXM per given volume.

Edit: This is a very handy tool for calculating how much DXM you're going to want to take given however much you weigh. (The more you weigh, the more you need to take for the desired effect). Honestly, the calculation seems pretty low to me, but better underdose than get too much. The helpful thing looks like the drop down menu for which product you're using literally tells you which products are the ones with only DXM as the active ingredient. I wish this had been around back when I was using DXM on the regular.
This one has been around for forever, but only gives you straight mg of DXM.

Thanks for this. Do you think the Children's Robotussin has any guaif?

Hey @Lundi I don't mean to single you out, but I'm curious if you ordered or tried DXM yet. If you are till thinking about it and have questions, feel free to ask. It's not for everyone - some people don't care for it. Personally, I found it life-altering, in a good way. But it's just not for some people and there's nothing wrong with that. I guess I'm just saying... I'd think it was cool if you felt like updating us all on how things went, if indeed you took the plunge. But I also get it if you just want to keep it to yourself, whether you ordered and any experience was had or not. Either way, solidarity comrade.

Hey, I haven't yet. I was at the pharmacy the other day and I saw Robotussin on the shelf, and one with only DXM as the only active ingredient at that but I didn't end up getting it. I think I will on my next trip there. Would you say the high is worth it? As in, is it something truly significant or is it just a mild effect? How would you compare it to shrooms?

Just check the ingredients. If the only active is Dextromethorphan, then you're good. (Dextromethorphan hydrobromide often written as DXM HBr). If there is another ingredient, it probably is a no-go. I know that the Dollar Tree brand of capsules are only DXM, at least they used to be and I've heard they were also very easy to steal.

I just looked it up and it turns out that of the several types of children's robitussin, the only one that has only DXM as the active ingredient is their extended release. Notice how underneath each type it says what symptoms it's supposed to relieve? Notice how that one only lists "cough"? Sure enough, it's the only one without other shit. However, it gets a little more complicated. The thing to be aware of is that this 12-hour children's version is DXM polistirex, not regular DXM HBr. It's still fine to use to get high, in fact some people prefer it, but it lasts way longer, and doesn't hit nearly as hard making it a lot more cumbersome to get your dose right. I've never actually done it tbh and I'd recommend trying the regular DXM HBr first. Here is one that is DXM only that is not polistirex if you really want Robitussin specifically. But there are others. Fuck amazon, but Robafen is one you can get in bulk from them. If you're ordering online though, I would just go with Robocough.
