I haven't started reading the last two books yet but I like to imagine that this is the plot of Blue Mars.
they can be a grind but you grow to love some of the characters and by the end they have a socialist cat girl utopia and the earth's capitalists are fucked by a planetary alliance of socialist governments that seize the means. i like to imagine the end state of those books is the best case scenerio for the future and i starting out a game of stellaris with the premise of a post-blue mars sol system
