    the Simpsons were an anachronism in 1989. a single income family with 3 kids and a mortgage? that's not been possible since the 60s

    The middle class was already gutted by the time the Simpsons came out.

    Pop culture is designed to make folks feel like that thing that died 20 years ago is just about to die. Also this post and the article just promote the simpsons. No one is dumb enough to think this is relevant political or economic commentary. This article is an ad for the Simpsons.
