      This looks like it was taken when gamers still thought weebs were weird nerds, before they merged with one another. I was pretty awkward but the anime kids were on a whole other level.

          Doesn't seem weird to me at all. A lot of people were introduced to anime tropes through Japanese games.

              I lurked 4chan in the mid/late 2000s and it was pretty much assumed everyone was both a weeb and a gamer then

                      Yeah, my nerdery has always been very specifically focused on Tolkien and Star Trek as far as media stuff goes. I basically just looked around a few times and the drummer for my first band was a big chanboi before it was really understood, but as with every high scht band, you deal with it because no one has a drum kit
