Most men who are aggressive and narcissistic enough to get into politics and be notable are sexual predators, abusive, or have some sort of rage demons. It goes with the territory.

I don't really give a shit about Carter, and if he's guilty it would hardly be surprising. However, this demonstrates nothing. If he did it, I'm sure it will become clearer in the next few days.
Yup the reality is that capitalists are not at all above despicable fake accusations. They use them all the time, especially with people like :zenz:. The end result of course is that accusations don't get taken as seriously as they should be, but :capitalist-woke: doesn't care and will exploit any and all means to destroy social progress.
The answer is to banish and liquidate abusive men. It's a societal issue that will probably take a generation of hard work to accomplish, and it doesn't start until people stop denying it.
No sane person would open themselves up to a lawsuit by talking about this unless they were sure their proof would hold in court. Not saying its not possible it is faked but yeah. Very unlikely it is faked in my opinion.
That's a fair point. This Twitter person is presumably using their real name, so if this is bullshit they would be open to a lawsuit. Still, if this is true I would expect further information to come out in the next few days.
If a person comes forward and publicly talks about being abused, there is good reason to believe them. A rando with an anime avi sharing screenshoted anonymous messages from someone who claims to have met a staffer who claimed Carter is abusive is not believable. If you're going to believe any bullshit you read online you should probably just give up being a socialist now because all your comrades are rapists according to the feds. Defaming activists and sowing discord has been a strategy of reactionaries for decades at this point and if we continue to be credulous and believe every tweet, we will continue to eat ourselves alive.
I don't even care about Carter. His run for governor was embarrassing and he threw away a decent position in the house. This information is about as reliable as what's written on the stalls in a public bathroom though and being willing to throw someone under the bus because of it is absurd.
