I don’t know, it looks hard af and the squareness of the shaft has the corners lined up with the striking axis.
I wish I could swing that thing hard enough to break it, especially probably one handed. I’d be more worried about getting it tangled up and stuck.
If it’s hardened enough then it’ll break before it bends. I’m not sure what the state of metal hardening was like in that era.
