"How can we add more deaths?"

"Include all fatalities suffered by people operating vehicles manufactured by Chinese corporations and people killed by Chinese vehicles"

I think they are playing into the propaganda of our government and are speaking of Armia Krajowa and not the Nazis. Don't get me wrong though, the fuckers were a nationalist force in the country with a lot of blood on their hands.

In our country they tend to be called "Żołnierze Wyklęci" ("Cursed Soldiers"), because of how they were treated by the socialist government. But no one really talks about Armia Ludowa nowadays, they've been forgotten and cast out. I call them Disinherited Soldiers, and consider them to be the more influential group fighting for liberation as they did so alongside the soviets.

Do people understand the Warsaw uprising was done in an attempt to create a polish government separate from the Soviets?

I feel like all the focus is on Stalin not rescuing them, which they wouldn’t have even wanted if they were winning.

Oh yes that I know, you already mentioned that people mostly focus on the soviets not sending help and are most often portrayed as "backstabbing bastards". But what is overlooked, is that if the soviets did help them, AK would've betrayed them sooner or later. They are liked by the current government precisely because they were anti-communist "underdogs" fighting for a "free" Poland.

Even the London Government military leader, gen Anders, straight up pointed on that with clear condemnation.

Also interesting fact: communist resistance forces did partcicipated in the Warsaw Uprising, even though it was politically aimed against them, because they couldn't just stand aside where others were fighting the nazis. Something (standing aside) that AK had no problem whatsoever doing (AK had up to 390.000 members in summer 1944 of which only small fraction fought).

About not helping, Soviet Army just finished Operation Bagration, biggest offensive in human history up to this point. They were in no condition to suddenly assault major city defended by numerous and well dug in enemy forces.

There would not be a Poland today had the Soviets not moved into eastern Poland after France, Britain and so on refused to pre-emptively stop Hitler as they had requested. The Soviets saved the very existence of Poland which would have been fully Germanised as per the grand plan of lebensraum.

You mean when the various attempts at a anti-nazi pact were thrown aside by the British and Poles, even when Romania was ready to have the Red Army flown over their borders to Czechoslovakia but Poland and England threw a hissy-fit and Poland signed a pact with the Nazis to get a chunk of Czechoslovakia? You mean after Britain sent diplomats on the slowest route to the USSR to discuss an alliance only for them to arrive and be told by England that they had no power to sign anything and to just waste the Soviet's time? Which pissed the delegation off and led to them admitting the truth to Voroshilov. Or England refusing talks because they included the Baltic states which they said shouldn't be involved, while also rejecting talks because they didn't involve said states. Or when Chamberlain wrote to his sister repeatedly that he was actively trying to get the Nazis to attack the USSR. Or when Poland's government responded to France by saying that they literally view the Soviet people as subhuman and that they'd rather by occupied by their fellow "pure" Germans.

        You mean that context?

Poland was going to be invaded, the Soviets hastily saved a chunk of its army and people, which happened to include almost entirely territory that is not actually Polish. Or is Belarus "part of Poland" same with Vilnius?

They partitioned Poland and signed a non aggression pact with the Nazis because their repeated attempts to get Britain, France etc to align against them were rebuffed, which every anti communist lib leaves out when condemning the USSR for it

That’s just holocaust denialism. I don’t see what else you’re supposed to get from this.

One of my TOP HATES in history is when people claim the red army allowed the rape of Warsaw to happen.

They burned 75% of their available armor trying to help that city at the end of a several hundred kilometer advance.

The idea that Warsaw was abandoned is a Churchillian smear. Fuck these removed.

Lol, the typical criticism is that the Soviets didn't capture Warsaw in time and thus the Warsaw uprising was defeated. This is bizarre though

At first I was gonna say “oh it’s the start of WWII, I suppose it’s ‘reasonable.’”

But then I saw the date 1945 lmao
