pee really hard and aim for the stains and then flush.

no but seriously, if you want to sanitize a surface, you scrub off whatever you can with a surfactant/detergent (like soap). sanitize with bleach solution last.

if you have hard water (you probably do, look it up), you will have hard water stains from calcium / magnesium buildup. this can be removed with white vinegar (acidic) and pumice stone. spray the vinegar, let it sit for a little bit, then scrub the hell out of the stains with the stone. repeat until gone. pumice is safe on porcelain, but it will fuck up grout and scratch metal. pumice stone rubs off as you use it, so get a decent amount.

    in summary and in order:

    • Step 1: Soap and water to remove as much material as you can get off
    • Step 2: Pumice and white vinegar to remove hard water stains.
    • Step 3: Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until all stains are gone.
    • Step 4: Mix a 10-15% bleach and water solution (15% bleach, 85% water) and mist it over every surface. Let air dry.

you can now perform brain surgery in your toilet.

wearing gloves is probably a good idea, and some kind of eye protection is smart. keep room ventilated so you're not huffing bleach. don't mix ammonia and bleach or bleach and anything, really, except water.
