I don't know if this is helpful but there are two styles of masks that will do a better job protecting her, especially at the hospital:

    • KN95 masks. The Max Planck Institute found that they make one of the best seals, including vs. standard N95s. These are also fairly comfortable and come in ear-loop and strap-around-the-head styles. I prefer the latter for long-term wearing, they're very comfortable.

    • Silicone 3M respirators with P100 disc filters. Get the gray and orange kind that don't have a filterless exhalation port because otherwise you'll (reasonably) get told to wear something else in a hospital. This is slightly more comfortable in terms of skin contact and makes a better seal but is heavier.

Please let me know if I can be more descriptive, if this is helpful. It's a scary time to go to a hospital
