Couldn’t decide whether to post this in the dunk tank or here
Honestly I can't even be mad at this sort of person. Every level of society has told them "COVID is over" for, what, 3 years? It's not unreasonable to take that approach.
Turbogulag for the authorities that said COVID is over.
yeah I'm not really mad at them per se, I just saw the post and my jaw literally hit the floor
Happy to see people in that thread saying Covid is still around though
The news told them to go back to business as usual, are you trying to tell me they would just do that? Go on TV and tell lies?
To be fair you should def get more perspectives than just finance.yahoo
How long will the current wave last for? Will it get a bit safer in a few months?
biobot.io is good for wastewater data
The cdc covid data tracker is also good
It looks like the current wave has peaked, hospitalizations haven’t come down yet, and deaths are staying relatively low. 2-4 more weeks before we return to ‘baseline’ would be my guess. We will see if we get an uptick though from this recent cold snap that doubtless drove people indoors
What's driving me to madness is that because they kneecapped our data (like wastewater) so much, there's no real way to tell just how bad baseline is at this point. Not only is baseline like 3 times higher than it was a couple years ago but there's also random spikes we're seeing outside of the massive wave. So who knows what's happening in those many, many unmonitored counties that most of us live in.
