wait, why do you even need chat moderation of a fucking tabletop simulator game? Like, when you play tabletop games at an actual physical location, you don't have a guy with a stick waiting to hit people who talk "off-topic". I guess if you're playing with complete strangers there might be some point, but do people even play tabletop that way (I've never touched the stuff, so I only know stuff about it through cultural osmosis)?
It's a global chat that iirc is used to get gaming groups together. So this essentially bans the creation of, for example, LGBT-only groups on the chat. And yes, COVID's made it a big thing and I remember doing pen and paper remote D&D games in NWN back in the day.
People say some pretty horrendous stuff in the global chat. Sorry, EXTREMELY horrendous stuff that doesn't get them punished.
The person who started bringing this to everyone’s attention did post some “I’m cis. I’m a cis man and I love my gf” posts and they weren’t removed.
They brought it up to the mod and the mod said that straight is too broad a term, seldomly used in a negative connotation and doesn’t get picked up by the auto filter, then they temp banned it bc it was deliberate trolling
