From what I gather it's basically just convoluted, impenetrable, and heavily relied on flash support so its no longer possible/convenient to even read anymore, and also its fanbase became infamous for getting conventions banned by tons of hotels for reasons as wild as cosplayers wearing gray bodypaint that stained absolutely everything and damaged hot tubs.
I consume anime and star trek like a normal person. Some people out there enjoy homestuck and I will bully them.
