Worried an aggressive new rule could cut into providers’ earnings, key members of Congress including Rep. Richie Neal are helping private industry weaken the administration’s position in federal court.
Also, it's a libshit take, but I feel like the Kaiser Family Foundation is actually... pretty good? I almost always hear good things from them, and Kaiser Permanente is the only medical provider in the US where I've seen billionaires and homeless people both go regularly for the exact same, high quality treatment.
It is obviously not what we need, but I feel like it's almost a preview of what universal healthcare might look like. All the doctors, in one centralized place, no approvals required, preventative care, equal access....
Kaiser fucking sucks, they will force you to only go to their facilities which are usually spread pretty far apart, and if you don’t go to their facilities they will try not to cover the bill and in some places have a complete monopoly on employer provided healthcare which further forces people to have to bend in all kinds of different ways just to get their healthcare
where do you live? Around the DC area, there are tons of Kaiser facilities, so it's easy. Plus, I personally don't mind going to only Kaiser facilities in exchange for paying basically nothing, having all my care centralized, and no insurance bullshit?
Also, isn't this essentially the same as how things would work if we had an NHS?
Jk but I live in Washington and most of their facilities are compounded in the Seattle area, they do have a certain distance where they won’t make you go to a kaiser facility but it’s way too much
As for it being like the nhs idk I guess but if America implemented socialized healthcare(lol never gonna happen) I would want it to apply to all healthcare facilities not just their specific facilities. It may work for the nhs but Britain is tiny and much less spread out compared to America

I'll go to gulag now.

Yeah I had Kaiser then switched because of the sorry excuse for a surgeon they trotted out for me.

What's funny is that the founder of Kaiser worked with Nixon to allow for-profit health insurance/ provider companies.
that sucks. I actually didn't know that.
