It's pretty interesting how the libs who are very concerned that ethnic minorities in China are learning Mandarin in school never complain about the absolute destruction of Italian minority languages.

Less glibly it actually is really interesting how little bits of a language that remain in use with an immigrant population that has mostly switched to a new language can be like, preserved like they're trapped in amber compared to the way that the language develops back in the home country.
