Food addiction is an addiction like any other really. I've noticed that a common thread with all addicts is trauma that's unaddressed and makes them self-medicate over. It's a no-brainer, but it's 2022 and people out there still think addicts just do what they do for the hell of it.

I mean I'm not a doctor and this is my personal and anecdotal experience with most addicts having been in and out of the system for quite a while. When you think about, just life in the imperial core is a form of trauma in itself in a lot of ways too.

Yeah I can relate. I dealt with some traumatic shit today that I can't even talk about yet for reasons. I want to just be a peaceful guy, I'm not that other fuckin guy anymore but it keeps happening. We talk on here a lot about revolutions but I gotta tell you it doesn't feel good even the most justified use of force. It's never a good thing and it always causes psychic damage.

Look at troops and cops, violent reactionaries who get PTSD because of inflicting harm onto others, even if it gives them enjoyment in the moment. I don't think humans are hardwired to hurt and kill without some kind of remorse, but society teaches us to bury that shit. I even think the covid pandemic is going to leave a lot of people who were otherwise mentally healthy unwell, due to the sheer stress and misery of hearing about so many dead and sick.
