A lot of it is definitely astroturfing, and like other people said, average chud redditors coming in to stir stuff up and get more people to get on board with their bigotry. When you're weak, your enemies see that as a chance to pounce. All the bigots on antiwork probably see it as an opportunity to voice their bigotry and hatred of left politics.
Honestly the sub clearly has weak leadership. If I was them I would be bringing the ban hammer down hard on all these stupid "replace the mods" posts, which seem to exist to suffocate the subreddit by keeping actual content off the front page. Every single post is now just "replace the mods" with around 5000 upvotes. Hopefully it dies down in a few weeks or something lol.
