I recently played the demo and the gameplay loop is pretty good.
I'm a bit worried though. In the demo they introduce a unapologetically drunk and aggressively left politician that I worry they're gonna turn into a villain. I feel like it's gonna be lib shit and it'll annoy the hell out of me.
I watched a streamer play it and I actually really wanted to find some discussion on it because it seems like it has incredibly confused politics.
There's moments where it seems (correctly) dismissive of reactionaries and shows that, even though there are ideological compromises, the ostensibly communist govt is doing good things. But then it'll turn right around and say actually the reactionaries are right. But at the same time it doesn't seem to be supporting some "centrist" position either, and I don't really get the sense that it was trying to take an anarchist position of the state always being bad, since again the left wing party did explicitly good things and was hampered by external forces of reaction.
I honestly don't know what to make of it, it seemed cool if very heavy-handed, but I literally don't get what the game's politics are
It's very, very strange. I've played a fair bit of it now and you're right, it's politics are all over the place.
I'm kinda just ignoring it because the fake sports match you edit is fucking hilarious.
