Who would win: the greatest and most evil cross-site, cross-tech surveillance system the world has ever made or one annoying Chinese TikTok app

I tell this to Americans all the time: imagine the absolute worst case scenario. The Chinese government learns that you committed a crime. What the fuck are they gonna do, extradite you to China and put you in a Chinese prison?

That's why the most rational thing for an American to do is to have Chinese-made everything. Who gives a shit if China's intelligence agencies have a backdoor into your computer, what's important is whether or not the American intelligence agencies have one.

This is one of those things that always makes me laugh about libs, and always does a good job of showing just how far those brainworms have buried themselves.

Your privacy is important, I respect that and I don't want anyone including China intruding on it. But I've had conversations with libs who fear Chinese surveillance, but don't care about Western surveillance, and libs who care about both, but plainly said they'd prefer being spied on by our Western governments. And I'm like, why? You've never been to China, there is no indication you would ever go in your life, what the fuck are they going to do to you? Do you think they're going to send a team of elite wumaos to come and censor you in your suburban home in Ohio? Come on

The China hysteria has seeped into every aspect of daily life. And like most capitalist critiques of communism, they are rooted in projection and hypocrisy.

A thought experiment for those rational lib types...

Your psychotic roommate who already hates you knows about your deadly peanut allergy and where you keep your epi-pen.

So does an office worker on the other side of the planet that doesn't know who you are or have anything against you.

      Who is the bigger threat?

I've seen a whole host of tech bros insist you need to do a whole bunch of stuff to protect yourself from being added to china's international social credit score system. Which like a. Wtf how can anyone over 12 years old still talk about the social credit score at this point b. How would they enforce that for foreigners c. Lol a burner phone isn't going to stop them from correlating your data if they really wanted to
