NASA says that humanity's only sustained presence in space starting in 2031 will be on the Chinese space station.

NASA still existing was the least plausible part of Interstellar.

At least we get the content of watching Musk try to replicate what we already had 60 years ago but taking another 10 years and costing 3x as much.

You forget he will also call the astronauts that inevitably die in that deathtrap a bunch of pedophiles and then tell people to keep buying doge coin.

Prediction: Smart and talented people in the US who want to be astronauts or work in the field of space exploration will join the CNSA instead of NASA, and this will be followed by massive amounts of butthurt in the media and on sites like :reddit-logo:.

Also, I just noticed the CSNA logo looks a bit similar to the Starfleet logo. I doubt this was intentional, but still very cool.

It was formed in the 90s, so it might well be intentional.

The cnsa has no taikonauts, the manned space program is managed by the China Manned Space Agency, which is independent of the cnsa, unfortunately it does not have a cool logo.

I know lots of other stuff is worse than this but knowing that just about everything in space sent out by "the west" for the forseeable future will be billionaire vanity projects and avarice-driven attempts to privatize everything out there that's in conceivable reach is indescribably distressing when I think about it. :desolate:

Sometimes I worry I've become too radicalized when I remember how much I used to like NASA. Then I read them hyping up the privatization of space travel and I don't feel that way anymore.
