I use a PS5 controller, it's 2024, this stuff should just work now. I shouldn't have to experiment with different combinations of ds4windows, hidhide, launching through Steam and quitting Steam from running altogether just to get it to work. Cyberpunk manages just fine, so why do I have to jump through a million hoops for literally everything else? While I'm complaining, Steam is only marginally better at this.

IIRC the initial run of Xbone controllers didn't even have Bluetooth but used some proprietary signal like the 360 controllers.

Lol I have the opposite complaint, I scored one of the 360 dongles for free back in the day and my mobo doesn't have bluetooth.

You can get a bluetooth usb radio. They work perfectly fine as long as your USB bus isn't being used by a bunch of other things at the same time.

I'd love to get one of those dongles, but the only places you can find them now is buying used or taking a gamble on a generic one from AliExpress. I had a couple of cool special edition Xbox 360 controllers that I could theoretically make work again if I got some replacement parts also from AliExpress
