I usually defend the troops bc like you can learn but i have a feeling most marines are past saving from the death cult especially after the first contract

So I used to work for a company owned by a vet and who loved hiring vets. The only guy who was ever in actual combat, also the only guy I got along with, fucking hated the military, was vocally anti-war and actively discouraged the younger people working there from enlisting. Meanwhile all the losers who were in logistics or some bullshit were all "hooah" jackasses who plastered American flags all over everything.

A close friend of mine is a afghan infantry vet who never saw combat. They just walked around for a year basically. Hes very left. He has some other circumstances that encourage that stance though.

I dont try to judge military people because my friend was running from his drug addicted gangster mom, had an absent imprisoned parent, impoverished and grew up where I grew up. I dont blame him for taking an out.

I've only met one marine who's had enough life experience and self-reflection to really realize he's been used by a cruel system. Which is more than I thought I'd meet, but still that's only one dude.

Every marine ive met almost has acknowledged the existence of class but hasnt given much thought to what it is or how they participate in it

It's mainly because I'm in Alaska that I only encounter active duty marines or like crusty "flee from the commie mainland lower 48" old jarheads
