Eh, it's alright. Learning another language and having access to media outside the anglosphere helped me widen my perspective a lot and helped me have a much more open mind than I otherwise would have
I'm ESL, I just have a hatred for the French language because I had to take it for 3 years in high school. Learning other languages is ofc great, I speak three, and practice Mandarin for fun in my spare time.
Due to :france-cool: colonialism, it's a lingua franca in a lot of the world. I've met far far more French speakers from Africa and the Levant than from France. Due to this, it's a good language for comrades to study.
