how fucking obnoxious the fans were (seemingly less so nowadays, self-awareness I guess?) about the difficulty of those games

Honestly the only people I've seen obnoxious about the difficulty are people who've never played them before. People who have actually played them know they are nowhere near as difficult as people make it out to be.
