I Tried Using Trump's New Truth Social App. Here's What Happened.

  • I signed up for Trump's new social-media app, Truth Social, after it launched on Sunday.

  • It took me five attempts to sign up and I received a string of error messages.

  • The app welcomed me as a "Truthsayer," but I couldn't contact any users or see any posts.

It would be hilarious if the site was only for Trump, just his personal twitter clone playground. Sometimes they let one person on to either agree with Trump or he can yell at them then turn off the replies.

Why would it be hacked? The only ones who would hack something like this (Russia) are the ones running the platform

Rachael Maddow: "I'm gonna say something that sounds out there." She waves her hands around. "It's out there but it's possible." She realizes that the hand waving was unartful. She regroups by putting on her serious newsperson face. "What if I told you - just consider this - Trump could be connected to the current situation in Ukraine..."

The Truth Social source code is a modified version of Mastodon, so it won’t have the sort of young-project bugs that Parler did. That code is open source and available on the website. Vulnerabilities will likely be devops related or tied into the modifications. Links are on my profile.

yeah. they're also just flagrantly violating the Mastodon agpl license, but it doesn't matter, because laws are for poor people.

I'm also not entirely clear on how the site styling doesn't infringe on Twitter's trade dress.
