      I think this one is fun because it's quoting Marx's comment on the weight of the traditions of dead generations, without understanding Marx's point in that particular piece (18th Brumaire of Louis-Napoleon), which is that just because you must let the dead bury their dead and forge new relevant movements , doesn't mean their history and failures and successes can't offer insight into the current historical moment. What always irks me when people call me a 'tankie' is that they are substituting understanding with cliche.

      In such cases, all forms of redacted will be considered excess by such people, because they have no such actual history of excess to draw from.
