The attitude of a lot of people toward arming civilians and "heroic sacrifices" is absolutely disgusting. It accomplishes nothing, it's just a question of how many people will die before this ends.
Someone on this site said this, but it's probably racism toward the middle east as well. The presumption being that if those peasants can withstand back the US army in Afghanistan and Iraq, white Europeans with a gun should have no problem against Russia. Not appreciating that in Afghanistan and Iraq those are militias with at least some training if not out-right ex-military.

Yeah I'm imagining how terrible I would do in that situation and I actually have experience with guns. It doesn't look like Russia is intentionally mowing down civilians (besides those awful clips floating around) so arming your civilians is probably the best way to assure more of them die.
