Being told this is fairly reliable for info on the situation in Ukraine. let me know if it isn’t. https://liveuamap.com/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Russian_invasion_of_Ukraine#/media/File:2022_Russian_invasion_of_Ukraine.svg

I'm having such a rough time with this one, man. Russia is clearly the aggressor and it's awful what they're doing to the Ukrainian people, and their own people for that matter. But looking at the major american news, social media, reddit, etc is maddening. There's a post on Reddit with a fucking cat on a Ukrainian soldier's shoulder. It all just feels so weird and fake. I know there's no side worth taking, but the entire thing is just so fucking hollow. I hate every minute of this shit. Fuck man.

everybody we have ever known and loved that isn't terminally online enough to be here could probably repeat the state department line word for word if you asked for their thoughts on the matter

I've been on reddit so long at this point I assume anyone I'm talking to is either a bot or so hopelessly brainwashed that there's no point in differentiating. So you're absolutely right. It's not a healthy place for this war drumming.
It's true. But then I think of all the real people who frequent reddit, people who are politically uneducated but presumably have good intent and compassion, and all they see is this propaganda blitz. I want to go in and try to express something counter to the narrative being drilled into every major (and minor) sub to at least give some thoughtful lurkers something to consider. But nope. Banned for saying just the slightest little thing that might go against the prevailing line. Being downvoted to oblivion is one thing, but you're not even allowed to participate if you don't toe the line. :freeze-peach: baby.

What did he say that clearly explains his rationale?

So the shelling of the 2 independent republics is not being an aggressor? The arming of Ukraine by NATO??? They aren't doing anything to the people btw. Where are you getting your info from?
Idk, do I have that part wrong? I'm getting my info from all over and they clearly want people to see Russia as the aggressor. Send me something to read.
Neonazis in Ukraine. In the video the neonazi is actually mad at liberals for whitewashing neonazi involvement in the Ukranian army. LOL - https://v.redd.it/89exb1gbcak81

War time propaganda for you.
It is. It's just so surreal watching every day people participate. At least during the post-911 stuff it was mostly just cable news.

It's wild how hard that perspective is to explain to most Americans.
This is honestly good at least from a propaganda perspective, you just got to see how clickly mass media can flip the switch. Nobody will talk about anti gay laws in Poland anymore or discrimination in Hungary. Russian sports owners are now suddenly the bad guys and republican law makers will now decry better russian than democrat t shirts. This happened when right wing populists are still wishing to copy russian nationalist opposition towards the USSR, not when they'll be ready to side with Russia against China.

I'm guessing they're not from Eastern Ukraine.
They'd be upset a lot earlier than this, otherwise.
