Citation formats are honestly so dumb. Just let us list out the fields! "Author: blah, Date published: blah, Title: blah". The formats you have to put stuff in are so dumb and nonsensical and unreadable too. It's like they're designed to be elitist gatekeeping things that no one understands. I think the specification for some of them isn't even free lmao. Like it isn't even publicly specified. Literally the dumbest thing ever. It's like creating an API for a software product but not publishing the API anywhere.
