They do some good stuff. They put a lot of muscle into protests and have a well-kept site and a cool podcast, giving socialist politics more visibility both online and off. I've known a few PSL members personally; we've collaborated on local issues.

I have also heard/seen numerous things/struggle sessions about sexual assault pushed under the rug, personal privacy invasions, and vindictive retaliation against former members.

I've heard some suspicions cast on Brian Becker for hosting a podcast with an ex-CIA agent, but that's the most substantial criticism of the party that I've ever heard. All other indication to me so far as I've been able to discern is that they're cool as fuck.

tbh I haven't found a non-problematic communist party in the US yet and PSL is no exception

I think they are the best group going, but that doesn't necessarily mean much. We all probably should try to interact with a chapter but mine is lib as hell, and some chapters are just kind bad. If it came to it though, I would stand by them before any other party.

I wonder why someone posting about the various problems with a group, including a documented history of stalking their members' socials, would post using a throwaway? :thinkin-lenin:

Since you are a former member I presume you agree with the group's ideological mission. Are you trying to air all of the party's dirty laundry to force them to clean it up? Or are you trying to demolish the party so that something better can splinter off or rise from its ashes, because you think it's beyond saving? I can't glean your objective here.

My partner and I left because of this. They now essentially control a union in my town and are doing a dogshit job of running it.

Their local actions and groups might be good I don’t really know, but I don’t trust or expect anything good from the broader org

yeah, it's fine. Depends on your local chapter, same as any big org.
