Indeed - I really can't accurately describe my perspective on this war without either letting the west off the hook or glorifying it, so just know I sit in between and prefer the west to lose all political/military engagements while the fewest amount of proletarians/oppressed people's suffer/die. That's really the base of it, the problem is figuring out where that sits lol.
China’s position seems best. Push for peace and cooperation, negotiate sovereignty for Ukraine and also security assurances for Russia (cede Crimea and Donbas, no NATO ever, de-Nazify). Oppose all intervention and sanctions.
The more time that goes on, the more I relate to China's chosen path given their situation to work with for the past century. Mandarin is on the list... after a bunch of things 😔
