All I know about this game is that it made some chuds very mad because of "woke". Which makes the game already worth playing in my book. Is it any good beyond that and why exactly are chuds crying woke about the game?
It's a live-service looter shooter using the IP. According to most review outlets it has about 10h of content, a questionable story and pretty much nothing special about it. The "wokeness" of it is basically due to Harley Quinn being less sexualised and something to do with how batman is portrayed in the game.

People are having trouble figuring out differences between characters aside from movement.
I had a bad feeling about it when it kept getting delayed, then the rest of my hope was down the drain after I heard it was another goddamn looter shooter and a "live service" too.
Best case scenario is it can be had for dirt cheap in a Humble Bundle like Gotham Knights. Worst case and probably most likely scenario is they pull the plug on it pretty quickly, like other failed live services (Babylon's Fall comes to mind).
It's just a legitimately shit game. The story is a dumpster fire after a certain point and the live service model is bad. Better pirate the Arkham games and play them instead.
Is Arkham Origins any good? I remember people disliking it when it first came out.
I think it's alright. It's certainly 100% derivative of Arkham city, and the story isn't that compelling, but it's a fun enough game.
As someone who has never cared about Batman or any other superhero but enjoyed all the Arkham games, I think it's worth it for the Gotham-at-Christmas atmosphere. I often replay it around Christmastime
Sounds like the Batman equivalent of the Miles Morales game. I can see the appeal in a game with winter holiday vibes (both good and eerie vibes) at the right time.
Better pirate the Arkham games and play them instead.
Or just pirate and play Sekiro, which was the best Arham game in every way, since you stab people instead of punching them one hundred times each and there's more enemy variety than just "guy" and "slightly larger guy," but the core gameplay loop remains the same.
