    On the one hand, yikes.

    But I'm still sympathetic to internet janitors making decisions like this because moderating these internet losers is just too much work.

      facebook and twitter aren't small forums with a handful of unpaid mods that have to be selective with what speech they ban. they're megacorps with a team of hundreds of humans, not to mention an army of devs applying machine learning to moderation problems. their content policies are dependent on political concerns way before practicality. the fact that they'll still silently flag a "death to america" post for observation by the NSA should highlight that.
