Oh I am but this was largely something I've been aware of. Definitely gonna share with libs though, looks real good.
This is why Baltimore's protests were extremely tame this year. In the wake of the unrest in 2015, there was an upsurge in liberal nonprofits that hire black paid "activists" that go to protests with megaphones and loudspeakers to tell everyone to stay peaceful and obey the cops and that we can change everything if we just vote. They also have vigilante groups that would go around and apprehend anyone throwing stuff or whatever and hand them over to the cops in the name of "keeping our city safe " or whatever. They've basically created an environment where unrest is nearly impossible.
True facts. The boards of nonprofits are often stacked with literal capitalists and a few token “community members.” And IME they definitely take advantage of their workers by appealing to the moral nature of the work, less pay longer hours because “we’re not in it for the money.”
But then at the top, there’s always some executive director who gets at least 6 figures to do some unspecified hobnobbing and lecturing (and the actual salary is weirdly not transparent).
